Although consultation and using published resources is encouraged, any plagiarised or copied assignments will be automatically failed. Please note that you will have the opportunity to resubmit Assignments 1 and 2 if you are awarded a FAIL Grade after your first attempt. Teaching Practice Grades: As per assignment grades. If you fail any of your assessed Teaching Practice sessions, or any assignment, we will not be able to issue you with a certificate that you have successfully completed the course. ***Please note: Current regulations state that in order to teach EFL in Malta every teacher needs to be in possession of a Permit to Teach EFL. This is issued by the ELT Council at the Department of Education & Employment (Contact person: Ms Sue Falzon, at sue.falzon@gov.mt Tel 25982409) to those applicants who satisfy the following requirements. You must: •Be at least 18 years old. •Possess a pass in TELT or A-level English (Grades A-C) + Certificate of a TEFL Cert. Course approved by the ELT Council or Cambridge ESOL CELTA or Trinity Cert.TESOL; or a comparable or higher qualification recognised by the Malta Qualifications Council. •SEPTT PASS. •Possess a clean police conduct certificate issued within last month prior to application for the EFL Permit. Note: Applicants aged over 21 years also need to have a matriculation standard of education. You do not need to possess these requirements in order to join the TEFL Course. Acceptance is at the discretion of the Course Co-ordinator, who may ask to interview you in order to assess your level of spoken English. However, by the time you apply for a permit you will need to satisfy the other requirements.
