Payments

Can I change my course?
Yes, you can change your course up to 3 days prior to your arrival. Please note that changes made within 10 to 3 days prior to arrival are subject to a 50 Euro administrative fee.

Are there any discounts available for long-term students?
Yes, we have discounts available for long-term students who are staying more than 8 weeks and even better rates for students who are staying more than 20 weeks.

Do I have to pay a deposit?
No, only students under 18 of age or students travelling in a group are required to pay a conditional refundable surety deposit of €50 in cash upon check-in at our residences.

When do I have to pay for my course?

  1. International Career Development: at least 8 weeks prior to selected start date, including CV and motivation letter
  2. Study Abroad: at least 21 weeks (5 months) prior to selected start date
  3. English Language Learning: at least 4 weeks prior to selected start date if part of a group or if starting between 09 June and 14 September, or at least 2 weeks for individuals between 15 September and 08 June;

Can I book and pay for more lessons once I am in Malta?

Yes, of course. You can extend your stay with NSTS Malta and book additional lessons at the school.

Will I lose my money if I have to cancel?

You can cancel your booking up to 11 days prior to your arrival. Cancellations or curtailments made within 10 days prior to arrival are subject to a €250 fee. No refunds are permitted for ‘no shows’ or failure to utilise part or all of the services.

How do you decide my English level?

We send an online placement test before the student’s arrival. Depending on the result, we will find the right class for your level of English and your goals. 

Are you open all year round?

Yes, our school is open all year round. Please note that there won’t be any group lessons on public holidays.

Where is your school located?

The NSTS English Language Institute is located in 12 Taliana Lane in Gzira.

What happens on public holidays and does the school close at Christmas?

Our school is closed on public holidays and Christmas.

How much are the textbooks?

The price is already included in our registration fee and you will receive all material and books at the school.

What will happen on my first day of school?

You will arrive at NSTS school reception by 8:30 am to take the placement test to assess your level of English. Depending on the result, we will find the right class for your level of English and your goals. 

What time do the lessons start?

Your course will start at 8.45 am.

Accommodation

Where can I stay in Malta and can you help me find accommodation?

We offer a wide selection of accommodation options for our students. Choose your accommodation to suit your lifestyle and budget. Stay with a local Maltese family, share a studio apartment with friends or live alone in one of our student hostels. Or you can book one of our partner hotels through NSTS.

How far away are the student residences from the school?

NSTS Campus Residence is in 10 min walking distance to the school

NSTS Hibernia Residence and Hostel is in 13 min walking distance to the school

What is the check-in /check-out time at the student residences?

Hibernia

Check in: 2 pm – 12 am

Check out: 7.30 am – 11 am

Campus

Check in: 2 pm – 12 am

Check out: 1 am – 11 am

Do I have to pay a deposit for accommodation?

Yes, we collect a refundable safety deposit of €50 upon arrival at check-in if accommodated at an NSTS Residence from junior students and junior groups.

Are towels and sheets included?

Yes, towels and sheets are included in the room rates. Sheets are being changed on a weekly basis and towels changed twice weekly. We also have coin operated laundry service.

Malta

Where is Malta?

Malta is in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, approx. 100 km south of Sicily, Italy.

Do I need a visa for Malta?

If you are an EU citizen (including citizens of Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway & Switzerland) you don’t need a Visa to travel to Malta.

Non-EU citizens need to apply for a Visa before they travel to Malta. 

What happens if my visa is refused?

If your visa is not granted and you inform us at least 11 days prior to your arrival, you will receive a full refund, less bank charges and courier fees (if applicable)

Is Malta safe?

Malta is a safe holiday destination and crime rates are relatively low.

Is Malta expensive and what currency is used?

Prices are comparably cheaper than in other neighbouring countries. The currency used is the Euro.
